Charles Industries, Ltd is a privately held vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of Outside Plant, Wireless and Access & Transmission innovative enclosed solutions for the Telecommunications, Wireless, Broadband/Cable, and Utilities & Transportation Industries.  We are currently seeking a Director of Fiber Products & Solutions based at our Rolling Meadows, Illinois Headquarters.

The Director of Fiber Products is responsible for the overall direction of Charles’ Fiber product development and marketing efforts.  This position will lead Product Management and Design Engineering personnel to execute and grow current product offerings as well as the responsibility to create a growth direction for new Fiber products and solutions.  The Director will work closely with Senior Management to identify areas of growth and develop strategic and tactical plans to ensure the Charles organization can achieve success in a dynamic marketplace.

Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with an MBA with a minimum of 10 – 15 years’ experience in the telecommunication field in technical, system engineering or technical marketing capacity is essential. Experience working with Communications companies including as wireless carriers, communications OEMs and RBOCs is required. Successful candidate shall be a self-starter with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, strong working knowledge of personal computers and software programs (Windows and Microsoft Office), and ability to work within a team environment.

Senior Product Manager

Charles Industries, Ltd is a privately held vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of Outside Plant, Wireless and Access & Transmission innovative enclosed solutions for the Telecommunications, Wireless, Broadband/Cable, and Utilities & Transportation Industries.  We are currently seeking to add Senior Product Manager talent to our Outside Plant Business Unit based at our Rolling Meadows, Illinois Headquarters.  

Under general direction, the selected individual will be responsible for a variety of functions associated with achieving the common objective of producing maximum profitable growth and return on the assets assigned to their area of the business.

Specific Duties Will Include Not Are Not Limited To:
• Developing and maintaining selected Product Line Sales Forecasts. 

• Definition of system configurations and specifications for new products, based on an overall understanding of the needs of our customers.

• Assist in Lifecycle Management activities for the assigned product groups.  

• Collection and analysis of market data for assigned product groups.

• Assist in performing a wide variety of market research projects.

• Development of competitive product information.

• Assist in responding to RFP’s, RFQ’s, PCN’s, and RFI’s.

• Support of the Business Unit at various regional and national trade shows.

Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, preferably with a Marketing Major.  An MBA is highly desirable.

He or she will also have a minimum of 5 years product management experience working in the telecommunications industry, including technical marketing expertise.

Demonstrated experience with telephony service providers such as Wireless Service Providers, Neutral Host Providers, ILEC’s, IXC’s and regional carriers.

Ability and willingness to travel up to 20%.

An excellent working knowledge of personal computers, software programs and office equipment including systems such as Windows and Microsoft Office applications.

Lead Member Technical Team

Charles Industries, Ltd is a privately held vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of Outside Plant, Wireless and Access & Transmission innovative enclosed solutions for the Telecommunications, Wireless, Broadband/Cable, and Utilities & Transportation Industries.  The Lead Member Technical Team will assist in the design and development of both existing and new product offerings to our customers, to insure continued growth in market share and profitability.  He or she will also assume lead responsibility for engineering project tasks and subtasks for CUBE enclosures.

Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree preferably in a technical area such as Mechanical Engineering.  A minimum of 12 years of experience is required; preferably in the design and manufacturing of telecommunication enclosure products (sheet metal design and fabrication, cable management, configured systems, industry & agency specification, and testing).   Pro-E experience is a must have in this role.  

The ability to work within a team environment including some nominal travel to our various manufacturing sites and customers is also a part of this function.

Field Technical Support Engineer

Primary Function:
Charles Industries, Ltd is a privately held vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of Outside Plant, Wireless and Access & Transmission innovative enclosed solutions for the Telecommunications, Wireless, Broadband/Cable, and Utilities & Transportation Industries.  The Field Technical Support Engineer has technical support responsibility for Charles Telecommunications Products.  Position is responsible for providing technical support and product training to customers, installation contractors, distributors and prospects utilizing an in-depth knowledge of Company products and services. 

Products responsibilities will primarily be focused on active enclosures (cabinets), but may also include fiber pedestals and housings, and below grade enclosures.  Customers will include Wireless Carriers, RBOCs, IOCs, CLECs, broadband cable operators, OEMs/integrators, and utilities.  

Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience with related technical support experience in wireless, data or wireline telecommunications. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) established at an accredited technical trade institution or university, or have equivalent professional engineering background. Strong mechanical aptitude and technical acumen, problem solving skills, experience with AC/DC power and electronics, ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings required. Self-starter with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, strong working knowledge of personal computers and software programs (Windows and Microsoft Office).

Senior Configuration Engineer

Charles Industries, Ltd is a privately held vertically integrated designer and manufacturer of Outside Plant, Wireless and Access & Transmission innovative enclosed solutions for the Telecommunications, Wireless, Broadband/Cable, and Utilities & Transportation Industries.  The Senior Configuration Engineer will be responsible to develop configuration specific documentation such as rack elevation drawings, wiring diagrams and other information that manufacturing will use to build configured CUBE solutions. He or she will also work closely with product management to identify specific customer configuration requirements.

Qualifications and Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years related experience in configuration engineering required, preferably within the telecommunications industry. Proficient with CAD software, Adobe Acrobat and other technical documentation packages.  Working knowledge of Pro-Engineer software, a strong plus.
